Calathea fusion white

You won’t find a plant with leaves more beautiful than calathea Fusion White. The white-and-green variegation on the top of the leaf looks like it’s been painted on with watercolours. The underside of the leaf is a soft purple, which gives the plant a lilac blush. It’s just an incredibly pretty plant.

It requires a little more attention than some other plants, but once you know what it likes it’s really not complicated. Mostly, it needs just the right level of light. Too much sun will fade the leaves, and too little light will make it suffer. It will be happiest in a spot near a window, but not in the path of direct sun. It also likes humidity, so give it a good mist every couple of days. A monthly feed in spring and summer is also appreciated. 

This plant is part of the calathea family. They’re native to Brazil, where you’ll find them growing in the shade of big trees in tropical rainforests. They’re often known as prayer plants, because their leaves curl up at night, like praying hands, then unfurl in the morning to absorb the sun.
